"PickPulse" seeks to visualize the decision fatigue induced by the excess of content on digital platforms through an interactive installation and moving images. The installation subtly manipulates textiles with metal wires, poetically capturing and simulating the effect of involuntary muscle twitching, an unconscious manifestation of mental and physical exhaustion caused by an abundance of choices. This immersive experience invites viewers to contemplate the complex and nuanced interplay between choice overload and cognitive stress on the body. The installation integrates Arduino with Bluetooth modules and a mobile application, employing a gesture recognition library to facilitate wireless control of servo motion through screen gestures. This innovative setup enables users to simulate skin creases and muscle tension in real time during interaction with the application. The entire apparatus is constructed from transparent PETG, utilizing 3D printing technology. The film is intricately linked to the installation, directly elucidating to the audience the significance of each component of the dynamic installation, its overall meaning. The experimental film documents and elucidates the setup and interaction of the device, demonstrating the rules constructed from the countless choices made in digital shopping, while also incorporating real-life scenarios related to the device. This is to explain the rules to the audience more effectively, thereby conveying the adverse effects of unnecessary decisions on mental health.
