Moving-image Installation art, 2022
This project is founded on mechanical materialism and tries to discuss about our identity in a mechanical society through installation art and moving images. In the scene of the construction site, the construction netting resembles an “interlayer”, the upper part is filled with machinery and labour space, while the lower part is the crumbling remains of previous habitations.
The three environments are shown through the installation in this project, which focuses on the “interlayer” between the two environments. As this interlayer may be the sole chance for humans to "breathe" within the framework of Thomas Hobbes' mechanical materialism. As a result, this “interlayer” has taken on a romantic moment or space.
