We Things, I Thing

The project starts with the development of gene editing technology, through sculptures and the moving image to demonstrate the process through which “knowledge” affects natural substances. This "knowledge" is a synthesis of capital, politics, and technology. “Knowledge” endows substances with new functions. These new functions lead to different substances gradually becoming similar consumer goods and arousing and gratifying desire.
I consider knowledge's intervention to be a force. The “force” is transforming and fusing two arbitrarily different substances. They are both undergoing this metamorphosis. And they are responding by “talking” with one another. The whole process is driven by human desire. An infinite cycle, an infinite mixture.
